Is Pitchcraft right for you?

The repertoire is varied in both style and mood to make sure that our performances are always engaging for our audience and we're ready for any performance request that may come our way.

Pitchcraft rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7pm until 9pm in a fantastic venue in the centre of Edinburgh. Rehearsals are fun and lively, and also challenging and focused.

The song learning is fast paced and the commitment level amongst members is high. To ensure that the team is greater than the sum of its parts,  we expect members to practise between rehearsals, either on their own or in self-organised groups, to ensure that the progress made at rehearsals is carried forward.  Think 'three steps forward and onwards' rather than 'three steps forward and two steps back'.

Learning resources

Pitchcraft provides printed and PDF music scores, section audio tracks and SATB audio tracks so you can find the learning method that works for you.

Membership fees

Membership of Pitchcraft is currently £27 per month with some concessions available.

What's in it for you?

You probably already know that singing makes a significant positive impact on your health and wellbeing. You'll be a member of a fantastic choir that works well and plays well. We sing unique arrangements of amazing songs and raise money for charity whilst having a great deal of fun.

What happens next?

We will contact you as soon as we can to invite you for a taster session.

Everyone joining Pitchcraft has to take an audition. This makes sure that everyone can sing and contribute to our standard. You'll be asked to sing back notes played or sung to you to check your pitch and range, and to sing a song of your own choice to demonstrate that you can sing with a good, clear tone, on pitch and without any uncontrolled warble or scooping.

At the audition you will also be asked if you are willing to practise between rehearsals. We've learned that this is an important aspect of Pitchcraft membership.
